This was indeed a memorable event, for as well as providing some excellent karate, it brought together most of the major styles under one roof - Ponds Forge Sports Centre, Sheffield. The programme's title "UNITY" is apt in that such fighters as Molly Samuels, Wayne Otto and many more of Englands best were able to meet each other in the spirit of honourable combat. The action was fast and at times furious, but fortunately there were no serious injuries. The notable absence of the KUGB (Karate Union of Great Britain) -of course left the field wide open to other teams and individuals.
