Basic techniques are also covered in exact detail by Enoeda Sensei and these are also the requirements for all kyu exams, and shodan grading. The various levels can be accessed, skipped or returned to, by the use of your DVD's remore control. The original Beginner to Black Belt plus the four accompanying Master Class Kata programmes have now been digitally re-mastered. Again, as with the Master Class DVD, you can move through the kata's on each disc by simply using the DVD's remote control. Additional archive material, supplied by the Enoeda estate has been added - previously unseen footage of Enoeda Sensei’s early days in England: Andy Sherry, Terry O’Neil and Bob Poynton helping Mr and Mrs Enoeda move into their new London home. Additional footage also includes the famous Enoeda - Tomita demonstration filmed in slow motion, showing the potential destructive power of SHOTOKAN.

The BBC’s Open Door programme was the first British television channel to broadcast a serious documentary programme about Shotokan karate. This programme, fronted by Bryn Williams was first broadcast in 1975 and shows Sensei Enoeda assisted by senseis Tomita and Kawasoe with displays by Dave Hazard, Jim Wilson, Pauline Fuller and other early Shotokan instructors. The programmes are introduced by Dave Hazard who was a long time student and close friend of Enoeda Sensei.

Each of the five DVD’s has added archive footage which will prove both interesting and informative. However, the main body of each programme is what makes these DVD’s invaluable to both the beginner and the black belt. Enoeda was a Shotokan master and his graphic display of basic and advanced techniques sets a standard that is a benchmark for all other instructional programmes.

Each DVD costs £14.95 and the full set costs £50. The programmes are avaialbe in any television standard PAL-NTSC etc.

Running time on each of the 4 kata DVD's is in excess of 40 minutes, Volume 1 (Master Text) is one hour and forty minutes duration.
